the letter 'T'The twelfth month of 2009 both begins and ends under the powerfully emotional influence of a Full Moon. The Moon of Long Nights rises just before midnight on the 1st of December (see Gemini), and New Year's Eve revels will be heightened under the light of a Blue Moon, the second and final Full Moon of the year (see Cancer).

The Geminids Meteor Shower, one of the best in the heavens, peaks around the New Moon at midmonth, dazzling us with up to 60 multi- colored meteors per hour.

Winter Solstice marks the shortest day of the year on the 21st, as the Sun moves into the constellation of Capricorn.
