The Chinese New Year celebrated last month,was, in actual fact, the Year of the Earth Rat, not the Fire Pig ... my source was misinformed. Recommended activities for this wonderful New Year are not, therefore, sleeping and eating all day! Ambitious new enterprises are the focus instead, and falling in love easily is favored.A New Moon on the 7th of this month augers well for getting your seeds, or concepts sprouted, and the Full Moon two weeks later sees the end of winter and the birth of Spring. The Cherokees called this lunation the Windy Moon, the Choctaws called it the Big Famine Moon, and the Chinese call it the Sleepy Moon.
This year it will mark the exact balancing point of solar and lunar energies, when the day and night are of equal length. Hereafter the Sun will triumph, and a thousand flowers will bud.
