Juno, the Old Roman Goddess of love and fertility, is only one in a pantheon of Goddesses who are honoured throughout the month of June. Ancient Greeks, Egyptians, Europeans, along with the Inca, Iroquois, Cherokee, Lakota, Zuni and countless others, recognised the climactic power of the Sun at this time and celebrated the season with fire festivals and love magic.Fathers Day lands on the 17th and is followed by Summer Solstice on the 21st. St. John's Wort and other herbs gathered and dried at this time are especially potent for later use in banishing winter blues, and a plunge in lake or sea water is a good way to soak up all the extra solar power.
And when you're done all that, make a special date for the Full "Honey" Moon on Saturday the 30th to spoon, swoon, and croon love's tune!
