Tofino in February

The Pacific Rim Arts Society's Spring Art Splash is preparing for another exciting exhibition of West Coast visual and media art. The show is held during Whale Festival, March 15-23.All artists are invited to submit an application for exhibition space. Application deadline is Friday, Feb. 29. The fee is $10 per piece (three pieces maximum) and artists must hold a valid pras membership to participate (yearly membership fee $5). Don't wait, exhibition space is limited!

The Raincoast Education Society is holding a "More Than Just Mud" Contest of Words. We had such a great response from last year's "More Than Just Mud" Photo Contest we decided to add some challenge to this year's contest. Let the Tofino Mudflats WMA inspire your imagination and write something down in an essay, poem, or short story.
Whether it's the amazing diversity of wildlife supported by the rich nutrients of the sheltered inlet, the fact that they are one of Canada's most important bird areas, or simply their sheer serenity as a jewel of Clayoquot Sound, tell us what the Tofino Mudflats has sparked in your mind and imagination. Write it down and you could win some great prizes!
The winners will be read at the More Than Just Mud Social Event February 21st, 2008, 7:30pm. Trilogy Garden Cafe at Tofino Botanical Gardens.
