127 Hours is the true story of mountain climber Aron Ralston's remarkable adventure to save himself after a fallen boulder crashes on his arm and traps him in an isolated canyon in Utah. Over the next five days Ralston examines his life and survives the elements to finally discover he has the courage and the wherewithal to extricate himself by any means necessary, scale a 65 foot wall and hike over eight miles before he is finally rescued.

The individual members of Tough Guys & Girls Cry spanned the prairies before forming in the surf rich town of Tofino, BC. No longer landlocked, still months of heavy rain and isolation provided ample opportunity to write and record some original works in the spirit of good times under storm. As surfers and skaters their music reflects the pursuit of fun as shown in their brand of pop ballads, chanted to the beat of the Ramones.

The Real McKenzies are a Vancouver-based Celtic punk band. Donning the traditional (and sometimes not so traditional) Highland garb of kilts and sporrans, the group proudly displays its Scottish heritage. Songs include Scots Wha’ Ha’e, Thistle Boy, Ceilidh, and Sauny Bean Clan (a ballad based on the true story of Scotland’s famous cannibal clan). In addition, interpretations of traditional Scottish folk songs round out their extensive repertoire.

The Fighter is a drama about boxer "Irish" Micky Ward's unlikely road to the world light welterweight title. His Rocky-like rise was shepherded by half-brother Dicky, a boxer-turned-trainer who rebounded in life after nearly being KO'd by drugs and crime.

This 6-week course is an exploration on making pottery using the potter’s wheel. Students will discover the characteristics and working properties of clay and practice centering clay on the wheel in order to make various forms. Students will learn to operate both manual and electric wheels. Those with prior experience will be introduced to techniques needed to create well crafted lids, and the duplication of related forms to create tableware sets. All levels welcome.
