Tuesday, January 10, 2012 • 4:30-8:30pm

The Tla-o-qui-aht Nation propose to develop two new run of river hydropower projects on tributaries of the Kennedy River along highway 4. The nation has spent the past few years completing feasibility assessments and design work for these renewable energy initiatives. Project construction is  planned for 2013 with 10mw of generation capacity feeding the BC Hydro grid by early 2014. Results of the assessment and planning will be shared by Tla-o-qui-aht members and the planning team and a formal presentation will take place at 7pm.  Everyone is welcome and refreshments will be provided.

Margaret, centers on a 17-year-old New York City high-school student (Anna Paquin) who feels certain that she inadvertently played a role in a traffic accident that has claimed a woman’s life. In her attempts to set things right she meets with opposition at every step. Torn apart with frustration, she begins emotionally brutalizing her family, her friends, her teachers, and most of all, herself. She has been confronted quite unexpectedly with a basic truth: that her youthful ideals are on a collision course against the realities and compromises of the adult world. Also stars Matt Damon and Mark Ruffalo.
