the letter 'W'Welcome to February in Tofino. We’re almost there, the days are getting longer. warmer and filled with more and more of our friends returning home from tropical vacations.

Whale fest is just around the corner and there are plenty of fun activities to join in. Before you know it we’ll basking in the warm glow of the summer sun.

Pacific Rim Whale Festival Video Contest

The Pacific Rim Whale Festival is celebrating its 25th Anniversary and wants you to create a video using whales as your inspiration. You can sing, perform, act, animate, or digitally assemble images. Videos should be 5 minutes long or less. The First Place prize will be $500. Winning videos will be showcased throughout the nine days of the Pacific Rim Whale Festival at multiple events. They will also be showcased on the festival website and YouTube channel throughout 2011.

Adam Buskard has spent a few winters in Tofino over the years and knows that January can be a challenging time in Tuff City.
