I just point and shoot,” states Tofino photographer Jeremy Koreski when asked how he manages his incredible images. The 24 year old lensman grew up in Tofino, and began his career taking shots of friends surfing. After a two-year stint studying photography in Vancouver and traveling through Europe and Australia, Koreski moved back to his hometown to seriously pursue his career.

Forward two years: “I have a better idea what I’m doing now, taking into consideration more influences,” says Koreski, citing sharp shooters Jon Frank and Scott Aichner as mentors. While his colleagues charge ten-foot reef breaks chasing their shots, Koreski faces ten-foot wave sets in wind driven snow off some of the gnarliest coastline that Canada has to offer.

Although best known for his surfing photos, Koreski’s limited edition landscapes reflect his love of the outdoors and are undeniably successful with both locals and tourists.
