Artist Fred Peters in Tofino

Fred Peters paints vivid, fun portrayals of westcoast life. His acrylic paintings feature bold colours, strong sweeping loose brush strokes and often unique exaggerated perspectives.

Born and raised on Vancouver Island, the painter is inspired by all of his surroundings, particularly nature and architecture. A self-taught artist, he began painting in 1996 as a way to occupy his evenings while working predominantly out of town as a heavy equipment operator on road construction projects.

Fred’s style of painting has captured the attention of many. Demand for his unique perspective of the ordinary has gained him successful shows and gallery representation here on Vancouver Island and across Canada, New York City, San Francisco, Hawaii, Las Vegas, Palm Desert CA. Many of Fred’s paintings now hang in private and corporate collections around the world.
