As always your favourite event this year was the very indulgent Clayoquot Oyster Festival. After that the fond memories of the year were the Martini Migration and many live shows at the Legion.
Favourite activity done while skipping work
Well the bosses of Tofino would have to do little more than head to the beach to find those missing staff members. Seems that's where you all go while playing hooky. Either that or heading out for a surf.
Favourite spot to watch the sunset
Head'n out to Chestermans is the thing to do for sunset watchers. Or a leisurely walk down to the first street dock.
Favourite place for a drink
When Tofino gets that feeling in the back of its throat that only a nice cocktail can sooth your first choice is the Upstairs Lounge and the Long Beach Lodge as its next rival.
Favourite escape
Head'n out on the water, either on the ocean blue or Kennedy lake is your escape of choice. We also tend to head out of town for some big city excitement.
Favourite place to be at 4:20
When it's time to smoke one you either head to the beach or get somewhere comfy like the couch or bed.
Favourite spot for people watching
For just kick'n back and watching the oh so interesting people of this little town your choices were the Tuff Beans patio, First Street Dock and the Legion during a show.
Favourite sporting activity
The ocean is the center of our lives here so our favourite sports were surfing and fishing.
Favourite place to relax
When it came to truly unwinding we either hid ourselves in our homes or hit the beach.
Favourite Tofino spa experience
Therese Bouchard's beach side glass sanctuary was your first choice for a some therapeutic touch. Your second choices were the Ancient Cedar Spa and Reflections Retreat.
Favourite place to get in the water
When it came time for a dip you tended to head to MacKenzie beach or Kennedy Lake.
Favourite place for coffee in Tofino
For the all important morning jolt of the liquid life... It was the Tofitian as your place of choice with Tuff Beans its next rival.
Favourite place for breakfast
For the morning meal your first choice was the Schooner with Clayoquot Cuisine and Tuff Beans coming in a tied second.
Favourite place for lunch in Tofino
Once again for the mid-day meal we seem to congregate strongly around that funky purple truck and the spicy delights that come out of it. Sobo was your lunch of choice and Schooner was a strong second.
Favourite place for dinner in Tofino
When the locals start thinking about dinner it seems that sushi is the first choice. Tough City Sushi was the place of choice and Long Beach Lodge was its runner up.
Favourite place for dessert
To satisfy your sweet tooth you headed to the Long Beach Lodge first and the Upstairs second.
Favourite wine list
Tofino's favourite spots for choosing a bottle was a 3 way tie between SoBo, Upstairs and the Long Beach Lodge.
Favourite place for food on the go
For a quick snack on the run, Sobo was your first choice with Breakers and The Fin strong second choices.
Favourite Tofino accommodation
When it came to recommending a place to stay while in our area Middle Beach Lodge was the strong choice with Pacific Sands as your second to recommend.
Favourite charter company
Ocean Outfitters was voted as your favourite with Jamie's Whaling Station as a strong second place.
Favourite Tofino surf company
For the surfing experience your favourites were Pacific Surf School and Long Beach Surf Shop.
Favourite Tofino gallery
The always interesting Lounge Collection was your first choice with the serene setting of the Eagle Aerie Gallery of Roy Henry Vickers as your second.
Favourite boutique
For a little shopping and retail therapy your first destination was the Lounge Collection followed closely by the Upstairs Boutique.
Favourite new Tofino business 2006
Congratulations to all the new business of 2006. The local favourites were Clayoquot Cuisine in their new location above Live to Surf and your second fav was Tuff Beans.
