Raincoast Interpretive Centre Events in July 2006

A full summer of educational activities and adventures have been planned at the RIC. A great way for children, local and visiting to learn a little and have a whole bunch of fun. The walks are family oriented with content for adults and children alike. Watch for guest speakers and feel free to stop by the centre at any point to check out what's going on.

Thursday, July 20
From flippers to flukes:
whales, dolphins, porpoises, and sea turtles in BC
7:30 pm -Everyone welcome
Join Nadine Pinnell, a researcher from the Vancouver Aquarium to explore the wonderful world of BC cetaceans and sea turtles. Learn about their natural history, conservation and the BC Cetacean Sightings Network. More info? 725-2560

Wednesdays:
Intertidal Investigators
Wed.10 am, $5 donation
Mackenzie Beach (Look for the bright yellow flag)
Hey kids! Meet us at Mackenzie Beach and discover the wonders of the seashore through games and activities with the staff of the Raincoast Interpretive Ctr.

Fridays:
Young Naturalists
(For ages 6 +)
Fridays 10 - 11:30 am (beginning July 7th), $6, Ages 6+
Meet at the Raincoast Interpretive Centre (RIC) 451 Main St
Through games, crafts and fun outdoor activities discover this diverse and beautiful area we share.

Tonquin Rainforest Walk
Fridays 2 pm, $5 donation
Discover the wonders of the coastal temperate rainforest with an interpreter from the RIC. Meet at the Tonquin Beach Parking Lot Trail (From Tofino go up First St., right on Arnet and follow the signs to Tonquin Park).

Saturdays:
Intertidal Investigators
Sat. 2 pm, $5 donation
