Favourite event of 2015

Keeping it marine in theme, your favourite events of last year were first the Oyster Festival and then the Pacific Rim Whale Festival.

Favourite activity done while skipping work

Doesn’t come as a big shock that our favourite thing to do while skipping work is heading out for a surf. I guess that’s because it’s usually the fact that the surf is “going off” that inspires such an act of rebellion. Our next activities of truancy are fishing and simply just hanging out on the beach.

Favourite spot to watch the sunset

When the sun starts to set Tofino heads to Chesterman Beach or else Sunset Point at Cox Bay.

Favourite escape

When you just need to get out of town and see some new sights your destinations of choice are our neighbours to the south first Ucluelet and then second Victoria.

Favourite place to be at 4:20

Tofino loves to celebrate 4:20 by heading to the beach or by getting into the water for a surf.

Favourite spot for people watching

The downtown core seems to be our location of choice for this entertaining activity with Co-op benches being the top choice and the Common Loaf second.

Favourite sporting activity

Well it doesnt come as a big surprise that our two favourite sporting activities are surfing and fishing.

Favourite place to relax

When it comes to unwinding we either head to the beach or shut the door at home for a little down time.

Favourite spa experience

The Sacred Stone Spa was your favorite place for some spa goodness with Ancient Cedar Spa at the Wickaninnish Inn as your close second choice.

Favourite place to get in the water

When it came time for a dip you tended to head to Chesterman Beach or out the back roads for a swim in Kennedy Lake.

Favourite place for coffee

The alarm goes off, and the gumboots go on… your fa­vour­ite places to head for a cup of the black gold is the Tofitian or Tofino Coffee and followed by the Common Loaf.

Favourite place for breakfast

The locals choice in the morning for a bite to eat was Tuff Beans and closely followed by the Common Loaf as your second.

Favourite place for lunch

Well the reigning champs of the Tofino lunch spot have once again prevailed. Sobo is most definitely your choice to grab a mid day bite with Wildside Grill as the runner up.

Favourite place for dinner

When we think of having a special night out or just don’t feel like cooking dinner our choice is Shelter or an evening at the yummy Kuma. 

Favourite place for dessert

For a sweet treat the trail leads to Sobo’s door first. The other choice is a delectable item from the display case of Chocolate Tofino. 

Favourite place for a drink

Parched and looking to sit down for a cocktail? Well — Tofino’s two favourites are Shelter and the Wolf in the Fog.

Favourite wine list

When it comes to being able to choose a nice bottle of wine to enjoy Tofino’s favourites are Schooner and Shelter.

Favourite place for food on the go

For a quick snack on the run, The Wildside Grill was the top choice with the little orange truck Tacofino as the second choice. 

Favourite accommodation

When recommending places for people to stay the Tofino Hostel — Whalers on the Point was your first choice followed by Middle Beach Lodge.

Favourite charter company

To head out for a day on the water we chose to send people out for a day of fishing with Bobby Kimoto or Tofino Fishing Adventures.

Favourite surf company

To keep the surf vibe alive we turn to the rad chicks at Surf Sister and then the solid crew out at Live To Surf.

Favourite gallery

When asked what galleries to be sure to hit while in Tofino our recommendations are the Mark Hobson Gallery and Roy Henry Vickers Eagle Aerie Gallery.

Favourite boutique

For an afternoon of shopping and retail therapy your choice were Pina and then Caravan.

Favourite new business 2015

Kuma was your resounding choice for new business of 2015 followed by the delightful Merge Artisan Collective.
